Emergency relief distribution to people affected by minor floods in Hanwella
08/11/2017 – Colombo, Sri Lanka: The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Colombo Branch took steps to provide relief items to people affected by minor floods in Hanwella, Colombo today. Around 800 families received aid during the day. The Kuwaiti Red Crescent sponsored the relief packs and funded the relief distribution.
Their support will extend to people affected in districts of Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Colombo, and Galle totalling their support to over 4000 families.
President of Sri Lanka Red Cross Jagath Abeysinghe, Secretary of the Colombo Branch Dr Amila Kankanamge and representatives from the Kuwaiti Red Crescent participated at the event.
