QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• A Masters’s in Social Science, Development Practice, Disaster Management, Health Promotion, Development Studies or related discipline from a recognized institution.
with
• 7 – 8 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
OR
• Degree in Disaster Management, Disaster Analysis & Management, Disaster Risk Social Work, Sociology, Agriculture, Social Science, Development Studies or related discipline from a recognized institution.
with
• 10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• MEAL Exposure (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning)
• International exposure
• Knowledge of programme standards and norms in the international domain.
• Exposure to strategic planning
• Fluency in written English
• Experience in community engagement
• Leadership, Communication, Negotiation, Coaching and Development skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

General Requirements
• Sound understanding of humanitarian, community and volunteer-based service interventions.
• Should be a quick learner with the ability to follow SLRCS management guidelines and procedures.
• Should be a team player who is self-motivated with the ability to work in challenging circumstances.
• Abide by and work according to the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Fundamental Principles.

The SLRCS conducts its general administrative and operational affairs in English Language and the appointment will be on a fixed-term contract basis. Only short-listed applicants will be called for interviews.
