Sharing knowledge with the Military in camp management during disasters
30/11/2017 – Jaffna, Sri Lanka: The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society recently held a training for the military of Sri Lanka in camp management during disaters. This is vital as most of the time disasters are managed by the Military.
The training covered areas such as the best way to handle matters within a camp when people have been housed after a disaster, how to manage a wearhouse full of supplies, how best to make logistical arrangements, cordination, and international norms and practises.
The training took place at the Security Forces Headquarters in Jaffna. The Sri Lanka Red Cross provided instructors for the event and managed the training at a request by the Military itself.
