Commemorative flag in view of World Red Cross Day presented to President of Sri Lanka

08/05/2014 – Colombo, Sri Lanka:  A commemorative flag in view of World Red Cross Red Crescent day was presented to the President of Sri Lanka His Excellency Mahinda Rajapakse at Temple Trees this morning. President of Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Jagath Abeysinghe presented to flag and informed the Head of State about the work of Sri Lanka Red Cross and the progress made in the Northern Housing Project.

Head of Delegation of IFRC in Sri Lanka Igor Dmitryuk, Head of Delegation of ICRC in Sri Lanka Cherine Polline, Youth Chairman of Sri Lanka Red Cross Ruwan Mapa and Youth Programme Officer Rohitha Nissanka was also present at the ceremony.

President Rajapakse presented his greetings and wishes to all members of the Red Cross and informed them the Government’s continuous support in future humanitarian endeavors.
