Chevron Partners with Sri Lanka Red Cross Society to Restore Clean Water Access
In a significant show of support towards humanitarian efforts in Sri Lanka, Chevron Lubricants Lanka Pvt Ltd has generously donated US$35,000 to the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. This donation is specifically allocated to bolster well-cleaning programs in flood-affected regions across Colombo, Galle, and Matara districts.
The recent floods have posed severe challenges to the communities in these areas, jeopardizing access to safe drinking water for thousands of families. Thanks to Chevron’s contribution, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society aims to restore clean water access to 1,500 families, directly benefiting approximately 7,500 individuals.
This collaboration underscores the importance of corporate responsibility and humanitarian partnership in times of crisis. By joining forces with organizations like the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, Chevron reaffirms its dedication to serving communities and safeguarding public health.
The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, in conjunction with its global partners including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), remains steadfast in its mission to alleviate suffering and improve the lives of those affected by natural disasters.
Through initiatives like these, together, we can build resilience and foster hope in communities striving to recover from adversity.
