Strengthening Maternal and Child Healthcare in Northern Sri Lanka
With the generous support of the Government of Japan, UNFPA Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, has strengthened maternal and child healthcare services in the Northern Province. The newly renovated Kayts MOH clinic in Jaffna was ceremonially inaugurated by H.E. Mr. ISOMATA Akio, Ambassador of Japan, while eight upgraded health facilities across Jaffna, Mannar, and Kilinochchi were officially handed over to district health authorities. These include maternity wards, MOH clinics, and Gramodaya health centers, which are now better equipped to provide safer and improved healthcare services for mothers and their infants.
